Development Process

Developing a transportation project the size and scope of TTC will require extensive coordination and cooperation among transportation planners, state and federal agencies, governmental entities, private sector developers and the public.

Once the need for a specific corridor has been identified, federally-required comprehensive environmental studies will determine the best alignment for the route. An individual environmental study can take 3 to 5 years to complete, with public involvement throughout the process. These studies will be conducted by TxDOT.

The design, financing and operation of individual corridors will remain flexible in order to maximize private sector resources, deliver projects sooner and save taxpayers money.
