For now, we have completed the public hearings on the Tier One Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) for I-69/TTC. We held 47 public hearings and 10 Town Hall meetings during the Spring of 2008, netting more than 25,000 comments. Since April of 2004 we have held 95 public meetings.

While the public hearing process has been completed, it is important to continue to hear from you. Comments can still be submitted.

Next Steps and Future Public Meeting Opportunities

Since the Spring 2008 public hearings were held on the Tier One DEIS, I-69/TTC Project staff has been reviewing and incorporating comments received from these hearings into the Tier One Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS). It is anticipated that this document will be completed and available for public review in late 2008 or early 2009. Publication of the FEIS will initiate a public review period, during which time comments on the FEIS will be accepted.

If the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) selects a corridor alternative, the project would proceed into the second phase (Tier Two) of the environmental process. During this phase, additional meetings and hearings would occur to solicit public input on proposed alignments and potential impacts to specific properties and environmental resources.
